X Topic Abstract

RPA is paving the way towards Cognitive automation. The organizations have seen success in pockets with RPA and some of them have hit the threshold on what RPA can deliver. The real opportunity, though, is to move beyond RPA to intelligent automation. This next generation technology - bringing together capabilities intelligent-OCR , ML, NLP, cognitive capture, and advanced analytics.

X Topic Abstract

Presentation talks about - How one can identify and bring in intelligence to the process? What are the steps involved? How an automated process should think and act. Drill down of a specific business process to address the intelligence gap in transforming RPA to IPA using core technology agents or Cognitive agents (Machine learning and Natural Language Generation) will be explained in detail. This specific business process will be from Insurance Claims area.

Presentation takeaway - High-level understanding of how to bring in intelligence to your automated robotic process and what are the steps involved.

Speaker Profile

Over 21 years of experience in IT software systems. Provided enterprise level architecture and solution design, using technologies Azure cloud services, IoT and analytics. Involved in Process Automation, digital transformation and Platform Simplification engagements, worked on Business Architecture and Technology Architectures for a few leading fortune 500 companies. TOGAF 9 certified Architect and has good domain knowledge in Retail, Logistics, Banking and Insurance. Currently Leading RPA practice at EVRY India Pvt. Ltd.

X Topic Abstract

Drag and drop RPA code certainly can’t solve because of the absence of:

1. Implementing enterprise level architecture

2. Integrating several modules in hierarchical fashion

3. Keeping infrastructure and it’s changes in consideration

4. Ignoring process level changes

5. Overlooking underlying applications’ changes (because of maintenance and advancement)

If we leave AI enabled RPA aside (because it has immense capabilities) brands are not even able to reap the benefits, RPA alone can facilitate; but only short-term benefits out of their automation initiatives, those are not even sustainable. RPA benefits are not immediate in nature. RPA investment grows exponentially over a period of time.

There is no such term exists – cost effective (most of people mean cheap) RPA. It always involved a cost, effort and perseverance. As per my personal experience; if implemented well; RPA can start reaping it’s benefits in 6 months and grow exponentially thereafter

Audit disciplines use simple and advanced data analytics for:

• Classification—Identifying good customer/bad customer and fraud/no fraud
• Clustering—Identifying groups with similar behavior
• Association—Determining that everyone who bought item A also bought item B, and 80 percent of them also bought item C
• Summarization—Describing groups with certain characteristics (e.g., executives with average use of company card totals greater than x dollars)
• Link analysis—Determining connections (e.g., A called B, and B immediately called C, hence, A may be linked to C)
• Deviation detection—Identifying transactions significantly different from the average
• Prediction/estimation—Predicting trends or growth of a new business
• Visualization—Perhaps this is not data analytics proper, but aids in nonautomated human discovery (e.g., charts or medical imaging)

Organizations are facing an unprecedented convergence of technological, social, and regulatory forces. As artificial intelligence, automation, Internet of Things, blockchain, and 5G become pervasive, their combined impact will reshape standard business architectures.
